Description: This program prepares students with the skills needed to work in the front office of a healthcare facility, by providing instruction and skill development in the daily operations of a medical office. Students will learn front office skills such as managing the Electronic Healthcare Record (EHR), introduction to health insurance, introduction to billing, reimbursement and account collections, healthcare law and ethics, telephone management (scheduling appointments), medical terminology basics, anatomy and physiology basics, and soft skills for success (professionalism, communication, and career-building). This program prepares students for the State and National AMA examinations. Students also receive a Certificate of Competency upon completion of the program. This certificate allows students to then sit for state or national certification. State certification is California Certified Medical Assistant Administrative (CCMA-A), administered by the California Certifying Board for Medical Assistants (CCBMA). The national certification is the National Certified Medical Office Assistant (NCMOA), administered by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).

Description: Become a Clinical Medical Assistant in the growing and demanding area of healthcare. In this comprehensive, hands-on program, students will learn to perform clinical procedures including vital signs, preparing and administering injections, drawing blood, collecting specimens, taking electrocardiograms, recording and charting patient history, learning the practical applications of Electronic Health Records, preparing patients for x-rays and examinations, applying bandages and dressings, learning medical terminology, and career development. This course includes medical administrative online training. Students are awarded a Certificate of Competency upon completion, allowing them to sit for state or national certification. Description: Graduates of this program will be qualified to work as a Personal Trainer and/or Group Exercise Instructor. Students in this program will learn scientific principles of exercise and physical conditioning, techniques of strength training, and methods appropriate to establishing healthy behavior. Description: A Health Information Medical Coder is an individual who analyzes medical records and assigns codes to index diagnoses and produces to support clinical care; to assist medical research in hospitals, physician's offices, clinics and other healthcare facilities; and to provide information for reimbursement purposes. Description: Students learn how to provide person-centered support for daily living activities to clients in their homes and/or residential care facilities while learning about common diseases, infections, chronic illnesses, and disorders found in a residential care settings, and techniques to assist clients with self-management and activities like bathing, dressing, hygiene care, diet, exercise, social interactions, and more.
