Description: This program prepares students with the skills needed to work in the front office of a healthcare facility, by providing instruction and skill development in the daily operations of a medical office. Students will learn front office skills such as managing the Electronic Healthcare Record (EHR), introduction to health insurance, introduction to billing, reimbursement and account collections, healthcare law and ethics, telephone management (scheduling appointments), medical terminology basics, anatomy and physiology basics, and soft skills for success (professionalism, communication, and career-building). This program prepares students for the State and National AMA examinations. Students also receive a Certificate of Competency upon completion of the program. This certificate allows students to then sit for state or national certification. State certification is California Certified Medical Assistant Administrative (CCMA-A), administered by the California Certifying Board for Medical Assistants (CCBMA). The national certification is the National Certified Medical Office Assistant (NCMOA), administered by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).

Description: Become a Clinical Medical Assistant in the growing and demanding area of healthcare.
